Yeah I need more speakers like I need another hole in my head, but considering I didn't pay more than $25 a pair, I figured WTF....:nono:

The L19's are going, since the woofers aren't worth crap, and the tweeters that don't go into my 4301b's are worth more than what I traded for this set.....

The L88's can be regrilled, and I can patch together the LE20's for now, but maybe I can make a trade for LE20's by offering up the extra pair LE26's... Hello Lansing Heritage...:D

The L46's are absolutely beautiful, but I'm thinking they're not as good sounding as the 4301b's. They may also eventually find a new home.....

AA, More speakers!! L46 boxes?!? The trippy purple tweeter guard shot gave me a flash-back:D
I'm a cat lover but, my roomie's cat Barfin' Barney(has a bad hairball afflection) has damaged enough of my stuff to think creative torture technics, cats hate anything on their feet ie: tin foil, so make some tin foil booties and put it in the microwave:D No I would never do that but you sure feel better thinkin' about it when you see that kind of damage! How big was that kitty?

Oh my gosh. How the heck did you get those! Please tell the story.

I have a pair of 4301Bs and L46s. I love them both! I fact, I have been trying desparately to get new tweeters and grills for the L46s. The grill frames are pouched. I have been evaluating these two speakers for a couple of months now and the L46 are so well balanced, I would be happy if they were the last speaker that I bought. I love the 4301Bs for a completely different reason. They pack an equally huge puch for a smaller foot print.

How do you AK vets always manage to score so big????

DK

Anyone care to comment...

..on whether a pair of LE26's is roughly equivalent, tradewise to a set of LE20's?

Also, does the L88 use LE20's or LE20-1's?

Thanks....:thmbsp:

What's that matter? Tired of the concert sound already?!? :D

Not at all....However, every time I want to listen to the VOTT's, I have to pull 2 cars out of the garage, and push one speaker from the 3rd bay to the 1st bay of the garage. PITA, and not advisable other than in the middle of the day....

Besides, I seem to have this problem of not being able to turn down a bargain...:D

Analogue Addict. I am still waiting for the "score story". How did you manage L46s in a box? Grasshopper is standing at your feet Sensei.

Nothing to it....

Like usual, timing is everything.....:thmbsp:

Saw a CL ad, hooked up with the fella, he said he had forgotten about these. Found them sitting in his attic. He was listening to a set of Marantz Imperial 7's that I also almost bought, but when I pulled the grills off, they had mismatched woofers, which he was unaware of. Since I tried to source a single blue coned 8" woofer for a set of 5G's and had no luck, I decided I didn't want to mess with trying to source a 10"...Tempted me at $20 though...

Anyway, he offered up the L46's boxes, packing, paperwork and all for the princely sum of.....$20.......:thmbsp:

I did however, sneak out on my lunchbreak to get them, not wanting to risk getting scooped....

Bottom line, do your homework, check CL/thrifts/pawnshops early and often, and make sure your karma is paid up in advance....:thmbsp:

Aren't you the ak'er who got some Voice of the Theaters recently??

I know you are, I'm just being a bit jealous......

Rock on, bro!:music:

I, too, have a very abused set of L46's and love them.

Come to think of it, MOST of my speakers are beat-up.:scratch2:

case in point....(these were left on my porch, and I've never found out who did it!)
