Can anyone give me any information on the HK665 int amp? Performance, reliability etc. What is a fair price? Opinions, experience welcomed. Thanks.

I found one at a garage sale a couple years ago for $25. It had killer sound. I sold it to a friend who is very happy with it.

I have one that I got at a yard sale. The row of pushbuttons were so dirty the thing wouldn't work. After a thorough cleaning I was presented with some
surprisingly good sound. A definite sleeper.

Although silver front, it dates from the mid-late 80's. Was TOTL int amp for h/k - about $800 new. Given the wide range of alternative amps out there, and that these are probably not rising in value the way some older amps are - $100 max in full working condition??? $50 with issues?? $20 as-is??? Free untested??? :yes:

CLEAN sounding amp and no fricken bulbs

hmmm well not important bulbs anyways...i'd jump all over it if i did not have an amp...a STEAL imho if you can get it for under $100 assuming it works fine...

I picked a black one of these up a year ago from a guy who thought he was really making some good money off of me. I gave him $25 for it and the tone defeat switch doesn't work and it was missing a knob but I replaced the knob and never use the tone defeat anyway. Definitely a sleeper and ruggedly built. I need to go through mine one of these days and clean the switches again. Enjoy!

A VERY GOOD solid state integrated workhorse. Had a buddy who jammed one of these out on a pair of Klipsch Cornwalls, and sounded great (the neighbors did not agree). One of the last H/K's made with dual power supplies. A true sleeper.

Why I sold it; didn't need it.
How much? $100 I think. That was after I had gone through it and cleaned the switches, adjusted the bias current, etc.

Sold those when they were new... until they were replaced by the PM665Vxi (rated at 150w/ch, IIRC). Great sounding amp. I'd still pretty much use one, anywhere, anytime... or any of its brethren as well (PM635, PM645, etc.)...
