Hi to all old farts that may have heard and remembered


i had a vision. I was at a friends house (died of cancer with 46 when i was 40, 7 yrs ago). he was professional into music, worked in most famous record stores til that time and had a huge collection. i remembered to have had heard a song that impressed me. driving rock with "something", a bit "Bossy" - Springsteeny....
the only song on the record that was listenable to me that time, i guess anyway it was a 1-hit-wonder...

but - what i remember: white or very light cover. the songs' titel was "gold" - i hope. Genre Rock, not hard.

who can help me...

I agree that "Gold" is just about the only good thing about "Bombs Away Dreambabies" but John Stewart is far from a one-hit wonder. His credits as a songwriter and performer go back to The Kingston Trio, and some of his solo albums before and since his brief time as a "pop star" are classics, IMO. Especially good are "Sunstorm" and "Cannons In The Rain" - listen to either, and you will find it hard to believe the same guy did "Bombs Away ..."

"Lost Her in the Sun' is another good one offa this album. IIRC, the name of the album was the name of his final attempt to recapture some of his past glories in the music business-if the album had fizzled, he was gonna quit the music business. It did quite well, but I think that was it from him anyway.-Sandy G.

Sandy, John Stewart has released two dozens albums since "Bombs Away Dream Baby." His latest was released this year.
 
"When the lights go down" is the start of the song. I played the s-- out of that album

I agree Sandy,"Lost her In The Sun" was a terrific song

Memories,pressed between the pages of my mind... wait,that's another song
