Odd question; FONTS used on Pioneers

Probably an odd question, but does anyone know which fonts exactly were used on the '70s Pioneer equipment? I guess 2 different fonts were used; one that marks all the buttons and also ie 'STEREO AMPLIFIER MODEL', and then the font used for the actual model, ie SA-7500.
I'd like to use these fonts for a site I'm working on. If anybody would know the name of the fonts, and even more awesome, where and if they'd be downloadable, i'd be VERY grateful :) :D

The bulk of the text looks like Bank Gothic. Just google "Bank Gothic Font" and you should find a free download.

The font you have sampled above is Bank gothic BOLD, from myfonts.com, made by Monotype. The bad news is, I can't find a free version of that one, it is purchase only. You can find the logo type on acidfonts.com, named Pioneer.
 
This is what I had used untill now, indeed the bank gothic resembles the type, but if you for example compare the 'R', they are completely different. I was just wondering if anybody knew the actual used font, but thanks for the suggestion :)

There is every likelyhood that the font is something unique to pioneer that will not be commercially available. I posted the Bank gothic because it is the closest thing I can find. Use a vector editor (like Adobe Illustrator) and customize the individual letterforms that don't match. Bank Gothic will get you most of the way there.

If you can't go that route, there is a font matching program at
http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/
You'll need to scan an example of the font you want to match, and upload it to the site.
 
If one were to mix and match fonts, what font would give you the letters that Bank Gothic does not? For example, which font has an "R" that is the best match to the Pioneer "R"?

Nice, Kerozene! Glad somebody else chimed in! I've got 2500+ typefaces in the library, but NOT Microgramma. Imagine that!

I also noticed that the acidfonts Pioneer is NOT like the early version of the logo. Pioneer used several different iterations of the "Name" over time.
 
That's the same one that Yamaha, Dual, and Ortofon use! Sheesh! :lmao:

wardsweb sent me the font sometime ago. Cannot for the life of me remember what it was! I deleted it because I could not use it in e-mail or for posts. It was quirky for some reason.
