Pick a few choice pages, Andy. I'd like to see 'em too. I'll offer up a few pages of a similar-era "Gordon Miller HiFi" catalog from Baltimore in return.
We really need to get some bandwidth to post catalog scans. The voyeur in me loves to just watch (the catalog, that is)!

I'd kill for some scans of the old mail order catalogs that I so foolishly ''cleaned out' of the attic about 20 years ago. :sigh: Anyways, I'm going to be getting a bunch of manuals to scan in soon, and want to be able to share with AK's members. I've sent Kam an email asking if the situation has changed any wrt hosting a 'manual' archive here - I'll let you know what I find out.
In the meantime, an idea I'm thinking about trying out is to use some of my 2.5gb Google email accounts as surrogate on-line storage. I figure between Google's search capability and freely sharing the account login info, it just might work as a 'manual archive'...stay tuned, I'll try to get a test started this weekend.
If it seems workable, I'd LOVE to see some scans from you guys' catalogs one day!!!
PS: Ah, Gordon Miller Music...Stereo Discounters...International HiFi...dems wuz da deys in Bawlmer, hon! Then there was Warehouse Sound in San Louis Obispo CA, Illinois Audio in Chicago, Dixie HiFi in DC, and some place up in New England whose name escapes me now...little square paged catalogs centered around pre-packaged matched systems and chock full o' "cool tunes and mellow sounds" sort of copy...

I've got '77 through '81 which I've saved since my days as a stockboy at a Tech Hifi. I won't part with them, but I might scan them. Like everyone else in those days - I couldn't wait for the new catalog to arrive each year.
I've also still got one of those Tech Hifi chairs
(wood frame with brown canvas seat and back). I'll have to post some pics!

The one's with the Ohm F's, I assume? Here are the hi-end recommended systems with OHM speakers for the years I have (I'll get some pics shortly). The other recommended hi-end systems had Infinity speakers (QLS-1's, RS 2.5).
1977 has a four OHM F system driven by SAE separates at $6150 (and a SX-1250 with a pair of F's for $1999).
1978 has a pair of F's with Nikko NR1415 at $1999
1979 has a pair of F's with SAE separates for $3800
1980 went with the OHM I's and Nikko Alpha/Gamma/Beta at $2600
1981 also has the OHM I's wiht Nikko Alpha/Gamma/Beta at $2500
I briefly had a pair of OHM G's (poor man's F's), which looked great but they sounded like mud. Wish I'd kept them (they were dirt cheap at the time).
