Awesome!!! I'd LOVE to get my hands on the CE-Ms!!!!

I had a pair and they ended up being firewood(seriously),(other than the tweeters)
The pair I had -one needed repair- really weren't even worth the repair of the passive radiator that was shot on one of the ones I had.
I scrapped the tweeters and took an axe to the rest.

Sorry if that seems harsh but I want to be sure that you guys didn't invest $200 of your hard earned money in a set of these..

the list of speakers I have turned to firewood is not long but, these concepts are one of the more impressive LOOKING that I have ever 'recycled' they kinda reminded me of something you would see by theater reaserch(sic purposefully) or doog digital if you get my drift.

This hobby is SO SUBJECTIVE.
I heard the Concept CE-M Speakers when they were new. There was a Pacific Stereo right next door to our store and I was in and out of there all the time. Yeah, they sold a HUGE amount of ABSOLUTE JUNK (like Transaudio, Quadraflex, Spectrosonic, Calibre, etc.), however, the CE-M speakers when played through a Concept 16.5 made my jaw drop.
In our store, we had the Heil AMT 1Bs and, one day, on a bet, a pair of CE-Ms ended up at our store for an impromptu A/B (unfortunately no 16.5 came along). The test was done with a Pioneer SX-1980 and "blindfolded", most in attendance (all audio salesmen) could not differentiate between the AMTs and the Concepts. They were THAT close!
At the time I had a pair of Dahlquilt DQ-10s that I believed were superior to both so I never bothered to work out a deal on the CE-Ms. However, since getting a Concept 16.5 a couple of years ago, I've wanted to complete the package (since I also have the 2QD TTand the ELC Cassette Deck). I just want a local pair. They were sold down the street from where I live, so I know they're have got to be some lurking around. Maybe I'll just run an ad in the paper: "Sell me your Concept CE-Ms!!" I MOST CERTAINLY would not use them for firewood. That's ABSURD. The ones commented on must have had some SERIOUS problems. CE-Ms are a very SWEET sounding speaker with just the right amount of bass reinforcement from the passive radiator. I cannot imagine how that would sound "bad" to anyone. Are they the "best ever"? Of course not! But, they sure sound sweet with a 16.5 and it's 450 damping factor.

both pair of drivers were still factory original.
The crossover's were all original.
I won't rule out that they could have had a crossover issues, but I was not the least intrigued enough to try and fix them up.
Compared to my Vandersteens, the jbl-100t's, even the yamaha ns-690, or the JBL 4311B's these concepts had NOTHING on any of these good, working speakers that I already have wayyyy too many of.
I'm sorry Chris .... but MY take on them was that they were junk, and I treated them as such.
Dang it all, had I have known somebody here was interested in trying them I would have posted them here,.. free for the hauling.
BTW If it says anything I STILL have a pair of good empty polk 10b cabs with no drivers, crossovers, ect that I have no intention of EVER fixing up that someone is also welcome to come and get.
I can't bring myself to take the axe to these.
