I agree...nice compellation Doc...I did not realize the RT-7xx series came out in the 80's (I was thinking the 701 started in '77 maybe), still some excellent information from the Pioneer linage...a

Actually, I have a catalog dated 1979 which has an RT-707 in it, so I think that you are off by at least one year on that model.

As stated, the year posted is merely the year of the catalog in which the component was illustrated. When given several catalogs from which to choose, I select based on quality of the photo, pricing information, language, etc.

The Pioneer Component Database shows the years the component was available, and may not be correct in all cases.

Nothing like a good reel to reel, or 4 or 5 of them. I don't have any Pioneer yet, but I do have a Technics, Akai GX-625, Akai X-330D and a Teac X-1000 black. Nothing like the sound of a fast tape.
 
A thousand pardons. I neglected to add the T-600, T-6100, T-6600, and T-8800 on my original post.

These four units have now been added to that post.

Nice info!
I have a few of those models mentioned, for instance:

RT-1011L (2)
RT-1020L (2)
RT-1020H
RT-2022
RT-707 (6)
RT-901
RT-909 (3)

My latest find was on eBay and was an RT-1011L, which I got for the very high price of $40 plus shipping. It included the 10" hub adapters, which many of you know, sell for $50+ alone. In the auction the seller also states that the play button will not stay depressed? Well, I'm pretty sure he had mistaken the play button with the stop button, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with the play button! :D It does need a good cleaning, but I think I did allright on it. As a matter of fact, this deal was almost as good as the mint RT-707 (with 2 mint Pioneer PR-85 take-up reels) I got on eBay for a BIN of $125.

Hi Doc,

Thanks for the pics and info, I have the RT-707, still works great! Would you have anything on the CT-F1000 cassette deck? Picking one up in Tucson next week.
