need a tech in Tampa..

Tboned

2-channel convert
new to me Yamaha M-4 developed issues this weekend. No sound, overload light lights up. I 'll be honest and say i don't want to screw it up by diagnosing/fixing myself. Pulled the cover and the 3 fuses i saw looked good, so off to a more knowledgeable person it will go.

Thanks,as this was the first weekend i got my system up..:sigh:

I wish I could help you, since I am in the Tampa area also. I would like to have my Yamaha amps bench tested to see if there is any issues.

As far as your M-4, the fusistors in these amps are notorious for drifting in value and/or failing. I repaired an M-4 with a dead channel and replaced them all with metal film resistors (both channels). It had blown outputs and drivers.

If you lost both channels, you probably have a power supply issue. The clip lights coming on indicate non working outputs.

EPR Electronics in Tampa on East Hillsborough Ave. is a factory authorized service center for Yamaha's pro gear. I am taking my amp to them next week and will report back. Their number is: 813-232-3907, give them a call to see if they can service your M-4. An amp's an amp, pro or consumer, especially when it comes to Yamaha's, so they should be able to help. Talk to Mike, he is who I talked to. They are next to Speaker Exchange, just east of I-275 on Hills. Ave.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!:D

Just got it in and all hooked up....man, I missed this amp:banana:

Sounds great (Mid bass is especially noticeable) and the LED's look great. I know Avionic put a lot of time into this project, and I wanted to say that he was great to work with, verrrrrry affordable, and I would send anything in to him in the future !!
