I see 12 points (2 rows of 6) where the tone switch contact solder to the cct board traces. Touch those up is what i was recommending. They can't have NO solder... you must be looking at something else.

Hi Scott,

Been very busy for some days now, hence could not update. I re-soldered the marked area on the F-3098 pcb. There is no protection problem (for the time being ) since then. It's starting ok with the tone control on. I've to monitor it for a longer period of time.
