I've always liked traffic, Winwood and Capaldi were musical geniuses, Dave Mason always had an off-the-wall flair that I feel really tied the whole thing together.

So, I have THAT R2R. It worked when I got it but I think I burned up caps on the record side. Have you ever had yours serviced?
I can service stuff like Marantz receivers etc. however, I got a headache when I pulled the covers and looked inside this one. I definitely smelled burning caps While recording.

A previous owner presumably serviced it, but I don't know what was done. It works fine except needs counter belt, and the take up tension arm sometimes chatters.

This is a test tape to check out the recently found Akai M8. It sounds good except for bad hum in right channel. I will be swapping some tubes left to right to troubleshoot.

Christmas Eve day at the thrift store showed a big lot of reels, always rare thrifting. Almost all were home recorded, most being cheap Realistic stuff. Two were TDK Audua which I snagged. I have some and they have recorded well. This one is Christmas music recorded 46 years ago. Weak left channel and highs mostly gone on the 3.75 ips run. I will try recording something else on it.

Nice thing about tape is you can always make it your own.
