    Technics SL-J2 Tonearm Issue

I used a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. An old SOFT toothbrush can also get in the crevices. These swabs are great as well...

New “old” speaker in my environment.

I had a pair of series II with the original tulip base stands, and cloth surrounds. With the equalizer connected, and proper room placement, the 901 is an impressive speaker. I found that they thrive on power, and honestly sound best at high volume. I made a quick hundred bucks on the speakers...

Missing grill pins for Polk Monitor series.

It's been years ago, and it appears that the seller of the pegs I purchased no longer sells them. @F1nut is a great resource for all things Polk Audio.

    Technics SL-J2 Tonearm Return Issue

I can't believe I forgot to get back to this thread. My problem was solved the exact same way as @mlakata posted. I got my belt at the local hardware store (26mm o-ring). Taking out the rivets must be done carefully, they're tricky to get out without damaging them. Easy fix, and it works like new.

KLH Six circa 1968 Restoration w/Pics!

Bravo Glenn! I've learned so much from your restoration threads, and you've inspired me to take on projects like this. I did the full works to my pair of KLH 23's, and your posts were invaluable. I'd love to find a nice pair of sixes, but they rarely surface here in northern Illinois.

Sold two dirty lawn mower bags, bought a nice pair of KLH 17 speakers!

Like he said - couldn't agree more. I would add they are very well built. In the right room, with the right equipment, they sound excellent when restored. Sadly, a local Kloss/Advent/KLH nut made me an offer I couldn't refuse for my very nice pair of 17's, so they moved on. Can't keep them all...

Vintage speakers that have a lot of bass?

My vote is for KLH Model 23. Excellent bass response with these.

Renovation of my KLH 17's is complete (long)

I totally agree with @Bbyaka. I've also used wooden golf tees. Don't be in a hurry, and let the glue dry completely. It wouldn't hurt to drill a tiny pilot hole, so the glue and toothpicks don't blow out. I'd hand-tighten the screws as well. They only need to be snug. Be sure to put your...
