Agreed, as do Advents, but at least the old SP 8000's had some character and never blew up... The Advents are boring and frankly mediocre at best.

Any experience? I have been using a Marantz 1180DC but it has come down with intermittent drop outs and no one can seem to figure out the problem, so I am resurrecting my Bryston 4b, which I think/know the Tannoy HPD's will like as they like Solid State as long as the power is huge so the SS...

I think they are terrible speakers, and the tweeters are easy to blow. had a few pairs stacked back when they came out in the early 70's.... not impressed, buy some old Sansui's if you're going that era
