its been sitting outside the last 2 days, but thanks to the planet being on fire its not been particularly sunny. It definitely smells better though. I'll put it back inside tonight since its calling for scattered thunderstorms tonight into tomorrow.
 
@gadget73 ....years ago I had to store one of my '74 Cuda's outside for some time and rats got in the heater core and built a nest. Even after taking it apart and cleaning and Lysoling the crap out of it it still reeked. I was at a dealership getting parts and I asked them what they used for car smells and they recommended this stuff below. I sprayed it into the cowl intake while blasting the heat then the A/C. Stench gone...I was amazed how well it worked.

That was back in the 90's I believe so I havent used it since then so I dunno if it's still good stuff. I see they have a gel now too. I have seen it in auto parts stores along with the air fresheners also. Might be worth a try.

Have a can of that, and I've used it. Works great in HVAC systems for sure. I tried spraying it inside the car several times but with the dead body and the nest in place I don't think anything was going to fix that.

I learned about that to deal with a moldy smell from the AC that my old truck had. Couldn't ever make it go away completely by other means but a shot of that stuff at the beginning of AC season always took care of it.

Yeah that thing has gotta come out of there first.

Problem with the older vehicles was leaf particles and pollen would get in the cowl and rot stinking up the heater core...especially if it plugged up the drains.
 
Fair bet that's what it was, some bit of crud down where I couldn't clean it our without tearing half the truck apart
 
As for the whole toss it and buy new thing, I'm just not that good of a consumer. I like things that I can maintain and I dislike things that are disposable. Others can do as they please.

I just hope that when I need some TLC I can get it rather than just being hauled off to become Soylent Green.
 
I'd rather deal with a robot than most people's BS. Besides, if the robot really makes me mad I can throw a wrench at it without an assault charge.
 
I cleaned this back and forth personal attacks etc. Let's keep it on the rails folks!
