A.caddy full of tubes are coming my way.

One tube immediately stuck out to me- that 20LF6- if it IS a good, new-old-stock (unused) tube- that tube could be worth a Ben Franklin all by itself.

Regards,
Gordon.

I've got a set of 6lr8 in the mail. Same as the 6lu8, there is a thread on here somewhere for those. Its basically half a 12at7 and a 6973 in one bottle. Planning a push pull build but they make a perfectly fine SE amp. It would be similar to a 6v6 SE but allows higher plate voltage. Figure about 5 watts in pentode mode if run close to datasheet spec
I really ljke the 6LR8 SEUL amp I built. There is another one just like the 6LR8, but has an anode cap instead of it connecting to a pin. I almost went with that one. I still could if I added a couple jacks to connect a wire to the anode caps.

Those 6HA5's are used in some Fisher FM tuners and receivers. But nobody around here likes that stuff ;)
I really need to re-tube my Dynaco FM3 tuner. I'll have to see if there are any I need in that caddy. I saw a few odd ball rectifiers too in that mess of tubes.

When we bought our house in 2020, the PO left A LOT of crap for us. Some of that was 3 or 4 boxes of tubes, and a really nice caddy. I knew most of the tubes were spent TV type, but I was psyched about the caddy. She called a month after we moved in and asked for the caddy back--it was her dad's, etc. She did say I could keep any tubes I wanted. I got a handful of nice preamp tubes, and a pair of NOS 1L6 tubes! I just happen to have a Zenith Transoceanic, which was the only radio to use the 1L6.

Those boxes look to be in good shape. I have spent hundreds of dollars on new tube boxes, to put all the bulk tube buys that I have acquired. New boxes can be a buck a piece. Just get some small avery labels or use your brothers to make labels those boxes can be reproposed.

I plan on keeping the tube boxes. I always keep any boxes from tubes I buy and use too. I'll need some of those old TV tube boxes for.loose.tubes that I have that won't fit in the boxes I do have on hand.
