Well its that time of year again. The largest one day car cruise in the world runs a couple of miles from my house. The family and I will be out on Woodward along with 1.7 million other people.

last year a few AK'ers hung out with us for most of the day. You are welcome to join us near 11 mile and Woodward. We should have free parking which is near impossible to find. For details on where and when just PM or call me.

For those not familar with the cruise there is all you want to know about it here http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/

I will probably take both Jeeps and our chevelle, though i swear that car hates me. Battery just died on me many miles from home.

You should be able to park in the back lot but im not positive. See ya there !

Should be plenty of parking in the back lot.

Hmmm... maybe a destination that needs to get on my hit-list for the 'no fixed agenda' vacation I'm currently on.

What do you figure getting a room in the area would be like Grump?

Sorry bill i missed your post. Did ya have any luck in finding a room ?

What agreat event! Sorry to miss it! Thanks for the invite though!
Enjoy,
Jim

It does not even start for 3 more days and we were out there with thousands of other cars tonight. Its fun.

Kegger and Andy should meet us there. AK members are welcome to join in. PM me for directions.

Grumpy,
I'll be out there in the Vista Cruiser, Friday at Valenite Corp for a private pre-cruise show and calendar shoot, hope to see you, Dave.

I drove home on Woodward today and probably passed 2-3000 classic cars in 8 miles from Square Lake to 12 Mile. From 14 to 13 Mile was full and will probably redefine "zoo" tomorrow, but it's all in fun.

Followed a nice cream colored 1959 Caddy convertible with mfg plates for about a mile. Lots of Camaros, Roadrunners, Mustangs, plus plenty of 50's cars too. Face it, if it was built, it will probably be there today and tomorrow.

If this doesn't get you jonesing for an old ride, ain't nuthin' gonna do it

Just got back from there. Stop on by tomorrow and see us if you can.

Grump-
Sounds like a great time, but I'm going to see Joe Walsh at the IL state fair.
Although I'm nuts about cool cars, I've never seen Joe, and he'll be closer.
TAKE LOTS OF PICS!!

Here's a slide show from last years Cruise.

Unedited, but you'll get the drift......

I'll post more tonight from TY Cruise.

Pics from the Cruise!!

Got back a few hours ago after spending the afternoon with Grumpy, his family and Kegger at the Dream Cruise. As always, Dave and Nancy were gracious hosts and the parade of cars was mind boggling. so was the northbound traffic on Woodward, but our seats on the southbound side proved to be just fine for watching.

Here's a link to my Flickr site with all my pics. They're unedited, but you'll see what a cool thing this is. I'd highly recommend anyone who likes older cars to give coming here next year the highest consideration; this truly is athing to behold!!
