Hit the Catholics (rummage sale) up this morning for two Nakamichi decks:

CR-1A (FF and RW work, but having issues with "Play".) $2

480 (seems to be working fine, might have a burned out lamp.) $3

My dad is going to hit up the Presbyterians tomorrow morning (I'm working).

(I went to the Presby church this morning thinking the sale was today. I saw a line and figured "Yeah! It hasn't even opened yet" With visions of more Nak decks floating through my head, I headed toward the line only to find out it was the food bank line. The sale is tomorrow.:sigh:)

Nice grabs there! There's a church sale this morning at 8:30am. I've got to be at work by 8am.....:tears:

So what religion yields the best vintage finds? :D

I was thinking about that.

According to Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life", the average Roman Catholic family has several hundred children while the Presbyterians only have a couple three -and Calvinists also have the advantage of believing that creation is inherently good.

That would mean that the Presbyterians have more disposable income they are willing to spend on Nakamichi cassette decks. I'm hoping for a Dragon or a CR-7A tomorrow!

;)

Oh, and the rest of my ventures today proved uneventful. I passed up on an older Sony CD player (CDP-302?) at GW. $9.99 and the drawer wouldn't open. I could probably have asked for a discount, but I didn't need it. ;)

Also passed on a Pioneer magazine CD changer for $20 at a different Goodwill.

Since we just got out of the 40's and 50's in the last week, not many have planned for a garage sale yet -I found very few.

The good news is the two big neighborhood sales I love are coming up in the next two weeks. I've taken 2 days off for them, I hope they're worth it. :D

Damn j, sorry, sorry! That pres seen always cracked me up (all I have to do is use one of these!) and Eric Idle(?) shivers with antisapation:lmao::lmao::naughty:
Why the $1 diff?:scratch2: Great score on the Nak's how many does this make?

Well, the Presbyterians were dry! :tears:

I did make it to a GW after work today, though. I picked up a handful of sealed Franklin Mint classical records. Anybody have any experience with these??

I also picked up 3 sealed Maxell XLII-S for $0.49 each.

Then I stopped at a garage sale and scored in a little different area: a complete Soloflex (w/ butterfly and leg attachment) for $10. I was a bit excited and left without the big rubber bands -so I had to head back out and get them.

I got it put together and tried it out. I'll probably need another 100lb band, but it's been so long since I lifted that the 280lbs total resistance [/brag] will probably do for now. I did try it out and it's a bit different than the free weights I'm used to -but hey, this way I don't need a spotter.

One year later and the Catholics weren't so good to me this time around.

I did manage to get some Type II cassettes (all Maxell) w/ 2 sealed. I picked up a Gameboy Advance SP for $2. That was probably the buy of the day. It works great.

They had next to nothing audio. Too bad. :tears:

For the record, I are a Presbyterian, too, but we don't actually use that word. We're from the other side of the channel. (google my name and you'll understand)

:D
