The brand Sonique from France, I've never heard.
There is a brand called Sonics, and this brand is from Germany.

Inquire if these speakers are from Joachim Gerhard, if they are, the brand name is Sonics of Germany.
Although I've never seen this type of speakers shown in your pictures being built by Joachim Gerhard.

Dynapleat drivers?...VMPS used one of these drivers in a tower speaker years ago and it was reviewed in AUDIO Magazine....couldn"t find a picture but I believe it also used twin Morel MDT-33 tweeters and a ribbon supertweeter.

Those look very interesting and very in-efficient.:D Electrostatic or ribbons? Looks like the subs next to it have a very strange down-firing woofer design into the cab? Maybe some sort of shaped flare to increase it's efficiency? I would be looking at these myself if they were local. How do they sound?

That looks very much like a rebadged Sawafuji Digital 20 speaker. Except somebody added a dome tweet!

I spy.......several waffle irons(various sizes), 4 piezos and a Dayton soft dome.

They could also be ceramic heater elements, looking at them again.

So, breakfast with your music? Sounds good. Ok, does that mean if you put the speakers together you won't have to flip the waffle? sorry, couldn't resist.

Not only did several people beat me to the Sawafuji identification, but 71challenger nailed the type -- kabuquois.
Rats -- always too late to be smart and witty...
But on the other hand, I've actually heard the Dynapleat driver -- I've found a couple at the dump -- and I would not discount these speakers without giving them a hearing. The driver isn't perfect, but it has some real merit, and though I think the distribution on the baffle is a nightmare, they might be very good sounding.

New owner, I think

:thmbsp:Looks like I'm now the new owner, unless someone else has an identical pair. I had a pair some time ago and regret moving them on but luck presented itself with this pair.
I can understand why someone would add a tweeter to get more top end as the 4 small round ribbon types are only good for about 15kHz but why not use something that matches the timbre. When I finally did listened to them there was no imaging at all as you would expect when placing the tweeter on the opposite side and xovered the same as the 4 small round ribbon types (5kHz).
One other thing I noticed that there was no bass, how could this be I thought as the pair I had earlier had bass of sorts but this pair had none.
Upon further investigation as I was pulling them apart for restoration I noticed that there was a 24uF cap in the bass circuit as attached, no wonder there was no bass as nothing was happening below 400Hz or so. I'm amazed that one, someone would put a cap in the bass circuit and two, the previous owner hasn't picked it up.
My next step now is to re-veneer the panels and recap the xover, still deciding whether to use a 12dB circuit or the original 6dB.
