5000X, No Sound on Right Channel

I was at GW the other day an came across a 5000X. Despite the dirt, it looked to have potential. I plugged it in, all the lights worked, so I paid the $10 and took it home. I wired up some Minimus 7's, turned it on and........ buzzing in the right channel. I tried A/B/C and headphones and........ still buzzing on the right. Following a friend suggestion, I unhooked the jumpers in the back, took the pres out to a good receiver and this time........ music! So, I set to work on cleaning this out and noticed that two of the large caps have been replaced. I checked for loose wires, cold solder joints and bulging caps but, surprisingly, everything looked great. Cleanup was a breeze (the underside looked pristine). When I got to the back boards I noticed a problem. I went to hifiengine, DL'ed the service manual and I believe the problem is two discolored parts, R823 and R824 (on the right board only), listed as 0.3 Ohm, +-10% 2W CeR. I'm electronically challenged but are these resistors? The board, although maroon, is discolered but not brittle and the solder on the back isn't melted. Could someone, in plain language, describe what might have happened? Do resistors normally go bad or do they go bad because of some bad caps? Re-capping aside, is this salvageable? Can I use the same board with new parts or would I need to track down a replacement board? I see a lot of potential in this unit, it's cleaned up very nicely and my friend swears up and down by Sansui. Attached are some pics. The case doesn't look half as bad as the flash on my camera thinks and the grime has cleaned up rather well.

Yes they are sand block wirewound resistors--emitter resistors for the output transistors-If there getting that hot enough to melt solder you probably have a pair of shorted output transistors. Pull'm (outputs) and check'm with the diode setting on a multimeter.

Does anyone know where you can purchase replacement resistors for these? I can't seem to find them anywhere, but I may be totally clueless. Thanks!

Mouser should have them. I don't know the value, but here is a .33ohm 5 watt.
