Scott TT info

The TT in the picture is listed locally for a few bucks. Semiautomatic, belt drive, synchronous motor, "S" shaped arm with bias weight. I can see also a DIN output instead of the RCA plugs.

Maybe a rebranded Japan made (Sanyo, CEC) TT?

Anyone who can tell me the exact model?

Is it worth spending money on it?

If it works and for a few bucks. I'd get it right away. :D The record stabilizer is a plus in my book. Nice minimulist style.

It looks very nice. Wouldn't be surprised at all if your perception of it's origins are spot on. For "a few bucks", I'd jump on it

I've found this picture googling the web. It should be a Taya CP-300 (CEC made) and looks very similar to the Scott. Arm and plinth are the same. The top of the chassis is slightly different, but the switches are placed in the same position even if they have a different shape. It seems they are the same TT...:scratch2: What do you think about it?

The realistic R-8010 is very similar too...

Yes get it :) It is probably not a "Holy Grail" but looks like it would be a fine table.

I bought a Realistic Lab-300 for my grandson. CEC made and very nice turntable. Seems very similar.

If it is the same table as the Taya it is pretty decent. A friend has one and it has done great service for him since new.

CEC made I agree with. Very decent turntable in my book, the Marantz 6100 being the priciest variant.

Yes, C.E.C. all the way, IMO. The 6100 was indeed the "high priced spread" but oddly was the only one of this group of quite similar turntables not internally suspended. My favorites among them are the Sanyo TP 625 and TP 626.
