A fantastic receiver, made it easy to sell my Marantz 2270 and 2325.

The 8080 trumps both (IMO) aesthetically and sonically.

See photos.

Definitely the nicest case on one of those I have ever seen - a really beautiful job. :thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp:

Just purchased this Sansui Model 8 Deluxe on a Ebay 'Buy It Now'.

After much effort,I managed to place the Sansui Eight Deluxe in the TOTL Sansui stack late last night. It's sitting on top of the Sansui 881,below the Sansui AU-919/AU-999 amps/9090DB receiver and Sansui QRX-9001 quad, the latter being at the very bottom.
I listened to some good quality pre-recorded cassettes via the Nakamichi Dragon (at the very top),thru my good old trustworthy Sennheiser HD-580'S and all I can say is AMAZING!
Sorry about the slightly cut off pics. It's just there's not a lot of space to shoot around tight corners :music:

I don"t know if it"s you , but this kind of placement one on top of the other on a tower 10 machines high , is lunatic.:nono:

Daunia 70 - Wow!, what a great collection of vintage kit! - I have not seen stack(s) like this for quite some years - If your AU-919 ever want's to leave the Sansui stack, it is more than welcome down south! :D

Thanks for the thoughts.I've never had any problems stacking high.I always make sure there's ventilation between each component and that it's stable/can take the weight without any damage.I can remember seeing a monster receiver advert with around 8-10 receivers stacked on top of each other, which would be heavier than my stacks.

Cheers :) glad you really like the Sansui stack and especially the AU-919 :thmbsp:

Au-70

Well, don't have any larger pics ready to post just yet, but my avatar photo says it all. A mid-60's AU-70, recapped and restored to Sansui tube nirvana. I also recently added a mint CD-X211 CD player to the stable.
