how to remove cover on electro-voice/allied 615HC

Help needed.

I've got a pair of Electro-Voice made Allied Knight 615HC coaxial speakers that I'm working on today and can't figure out how to get the backs off so I can replace the caps. I thought I read some place to heat up the green cover and it would loosen. I've tried that with a hair dryer and even tried a little pry bar action, but they aren't budging hardly at all. I've got a more powerful heat gun, but I don't want to ruin the nice paint. I looked through the reference section which is really great btw, but didn't find anything. Apologies if this is covered somewhere else. I've never owned or worked on electro-voice coaxials, but maybe they are the same with regard to getting the cover off? They look beautiful, but they sound terrible.

Comparing specs, they seem to be some kind of hybrid between an 15trx or 15trxb except that the Allied version has a heavy ceramic magnet.

Paid a visit to Horrible Freight this morning and bought a real heat gun instead of my wife's hair dryer. On sale for $15. Tried heating around the base of the cover again with no success. Put the heat gun on the badge on top and after a little heat it popped off. I think it probably would have come off with just a little prying from a thin utility knife. One machine screw later and success  So far have removed one cap and after careful removal of the tape wrapped all over it found it was rated 2.8mfd 50v. Haven't gotten to the other one yet.

Both caps are the same...2.84 mfd 50 volts. Ordered a 2.7 and .1 daytons to connect in parallel so project will have to wait for a week. Drew up this diagram showing the internal wiring mainly so I won't forget how to reconnect. Big ceramic magnet in these things. I believe these are the same as EV 15TRXB except with big ceramic magnets and improved efficiency. edit: just noticed I drew the pot wiring wrong. Reverse the black and green wires connected to the pot....or change "back side" to front side.
