Live from NY, it's... Wednesday night?

Hi everyone, I've been a "lurker" member, after getting into Tandberg receivers a couple years ago. Now it's time to say hello, since I crossed the threshold into the vintage audio nuthouse recently. This is another story, which I'm sure everyone else here is familiar with. Anyway, thanks for entertaining reading and research.

I guess I should introduce myself over on one of the vintage receiver forums, as I have a general repair question about a recent purchase (Tandberg TR-1040). Not sure what I'm doing here, but will figure it out.

Many thanks, fellow audioholics, and best regards,
Sean

Welcome...

You should post the TR-1040 question over on the Solid State forum. I have the service manual on the 1040, have worked on a couple in the past & can probably provide some input as can some other members with Tandberg experience.

Meanwhile, hi from a brooklynite. I have a Tandberg TCD 330 cassette deck. Maybe we should arrange a play date.

From a purist & chronological point of view, your 330 should probably be playing with my 2075 MkII while his TR-1040 consorts with a TCD-300 or 310. However, I'm on the wrong end of the country plus it would probably put my own 330's nose out of joint :D
