Family Vacation in Yosemite

Did you use the tag?
your syntax should be like this: (IMG)[url]http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/8904/goodmorningyosemiterb1.jpg(/IMG[/url]) -- [i]except the parentheses should be square brackets for the code to work[/i] -- edit: sorry for the "URL" code getting added in there by the s/w!

Looks like "Mirror Lake" :-) (now Mirror Meadow)

EDIT: FWIW, if you use Photobucket, it has pre-formed IMG and HTML syntax you can just copy 'n' paste into forums like this.

There was a good article in the New York Times a few days ago on the pros and cons of various free, on-line image-hosting services.

mhardy.....
I don't know if I used an IMG tag or what! It's giving me a headache.

Maybe I'll try photobucket. There must be an easier way....

Thanks for your help!

Rick

People on dial up appreciate your using the thumbnails. :)

Speaking of thumbnails: Here's the simple interface Photobucket offers for "sharing" images -- just copy and paste: IMG for AK, HTML for (e.g.,) AA.

I personally don't care for the thumbnails 'cause one has to click on 'em, and the file (upload) size is limited by AK (and understandably so)... so that I have to resize everything that I upload.

Luddite that I am, even I have gone to high-speed internet (even at home); not really much choice anymore, with websites' Flash- and video-heavy configurations nowadays...

That is one beautiful place wow look at those lush green trees moving upwards on the mountain.

I also seem to remember this location being featured in STAR TERK V the Final Frontier 1989.

Beautiful pics.
Just watched a Discovery channel special on Yosemite. It seems global warming is affecting the water supply and the Sequoias may be doomed. Too bad as I believe they are some of the oldest living things.

Carl: I'm trying to use thumbnails so people can click them and go to my pictures on whatever site they're posted on.

But I'm really ignorant! And stupid, too! So I'll just keep fiddling around until I get the results I need

Rick

That thumbnail/pic I posted is on AK's server, it is not linked to any other site. I downloaded it and reduced 72 dpi to 60 dpi which got it way under the 195 kb limit and uploaded here with very little loss of resolution as you can see. :)

Here I go again...

Let's see if I can do it (and thanks for all your assistance, AKers. It may be easy for you, buhttp://img117.imageshack.us/my.php?image=unbelieveableyc9.jpgt difficult for me.)

The link in the brackets was not intentional. I realize now that I have to hit the space bar, or enter, to arrange them neatly.

See if this works

(I'm working on the thumbnail approach, Carl, but it'll take time)

Hey! I'm starting to get it. Instead of thumbnails, I'm sending actual links to imageshack. This will do for now. At least I can share photos.

I'm going to try photobucket later. Maybe google has something, or microsoft, to make it easier.

Again, thanks for your encouragement and assistance, guys

Yes, you can share your links this way and may as well stick with what you feel comfortable with.
If and when you would like to just host on AK I will be happy to walk you through using Ifranview and the upload.

I'm not sure I know what you mean (duh). How did AK get the picture? The quality was excellent for my purposes. I like using thumbnails, too. But I need to know step-by-step.
