The woofer is made by Heppner, the horn driver is an Emilar........... EC-175, as well the horn and the crossover are also Emilar.

Nothing Altec in there.

There is a connection with Altec in the sense that Jonas Renkus, the founder of Emilar Corp. worked directly under Dr Hilliard at Altec just as Jim Lansing once had.

It's good stuff!

Bump!

Somebody within driving distance should take this plunge, just one horn and driver are worth the asking price!

Not to mention they probably sound damn fine.

they *LOOK* like harsh sounding PA speakers... you sure they sound any good?

I probably won't bid even though I could easily pick them up. I need to get rid of speakers, not buy more. However, I am very curious what these sound like.

Emilar drivers are first rate and descended from the 1" Altec. Nothing cheap or "Heppnerish" about them. I don't know if these speakers sound good but I think they certainly can.
