Rockin and Rollin....
OK.. so this guy is a rocket scientist by day.. but it must be night or something... When you hear him say he usually doesn't ride it, you know it's aobut to get exciting... I've done more than my share of burnouts on bikes, and it's easy to get into trouble doing them too.. seen quite a few people crash and burn doing burnouts..

0 - 60 in .97 seconds.. but 60 - 0 twice as fast...

I must say, that's one bad ass bike though!!!

Cripes, I hope the guy survived okay.

i hate to see things like that.

I can't believe he'd attempt that ride without a helmet and safety leathers.

I was reading the site the original video appeared on. The guy that built it and crashed it posted today to the comments on the site that he was ok, and yep, he messed up... He said evidently the pavement dried up and the bike hooked up. He also said the throttle stuck and he had to release the front brake so he could twist the throttle back...

I know better.. the guy isn't used to riding, and probably hasn't burnt a bike with that much power. It's all too easy to twist the throttle back too far, and not be able to release it without releasing the brake.. been there,.. done it.. I'm sure since you used to ride you understand completely...

I still admire the hell outta what he's built though.. that's one screaming machine!!! Wonder how long the a charge on batteries last?

Sounds like a case of cameras: get a TV camera on a guy next to a guy toy and it'll be impossible to not try something flashy regardless of experience.

Here... Hold my beer...

ROTF!!!! Testosterone is a great thing for funny videos!

Glad to here he's okay.

Now, since he's fine, we can laugh and poke fun.

Let's re-cut the video to music.

I suggest "The Electric Slide"....

No helmet & leathers?
Yeah, he's a pro!?
He'd be safer designing electric razors.
He can test it on that weasel growing on his face!

That is a tremendous piece of equipment he built. He is lucky he hit just a minivan and did not end up in traffic!!

I think he's very lucky he didn't fracture his skull or snap his neck... just very, very lucky to be okay. I don't know what speed that collision occured at, but the the fact that the bike was wedged into a parked vehicle and he was flat on the road suggests he flew and hit the road with some real impact, potentially far more serious than it turned out. It could also have happened further along, at a higher speed, which would have been worse.

I hope he will continue to design, refine and promote that incredible machine (and perhaps others), but leave the driving to the bike drag-racing professionals, who at least wear helmets! He's obviously a talented and dedicated engineer with something to offer, so he should stick to that, IMO. Let the daredevils who couldn't design such a machine take the risks.
