Denon DRA 1025 RA

Is anybody familiar with this unit? I am kinda partial to Denon - my first component stereo was a Denon, and I am still holding on to a little DRA 345 R that I hook up occasionally. I guess I rather like the Denon sound.

The DRA 1025 RA is huge for a stereo receiver, and claims 125wpc which seems a lot for an early 90s amp! I paid $10 at the local GW, so I guess I didn't do too badly? No remote, unfortunately, which is a shame.

No remote? That's only a $5 receiver.

:dammit:

Oh man, you are evil! You are spoiling my day here. Life is depressing enough as it is right now. I need a little cheering up. Is there nobody here who wants to tell me I got a great deal? Even if you know zip about that receiver, please tell me I did well - pleeeeeaase :ntwrthy:

Frank :D

I like 'em too, I have the DRA-545R w/ 80 watts a side. I think you did real well. Remotes are for lazy bums. :thmbsp:

I think you're just looking for attention. I think you cheered up plenty when you stepped into that amp. I think if you're for real, I'll tell you this. I think that whenever you get a chance to pick up operative Denon for less than 10 cents a watt, you go right ahead and don't worry about whether you "did good" or not.

How come you know me so well? :para:

I agree - don't need one for my main system, which has a Yahama R-2000. I'd like to have one for my HT setup though. That used to have a Nak AV-500, which does have a remote, but one channel is weak and I haven't gt around to get that fixed yet, so I am currently using the Denon 345R for that, for which I don't have a remote. Now, they also had some BPC Sony receiver with remote at the GW today, but they were asking $20 for it, and apart from the remote issue, it didn't look to be in the same league with the Denon. If I had a remote for the Denon, I might not have troubled with restoring the Nak. Even for TV, I more and more prefer 2 channel stereo over surround sound, but then I rarely ever watch action movies, where surround sound probably shines most. Still rambling and looking for attention... :D

I bought this amp new in '90 $1200 I blew a power supply which was my mistake so it works beautifully used to push two pairs of 901's and it sounded like a concert actually using it now to push a pair of PA's for my cousins band believe it or not I would say you got quite a deal
