I left a note at the house asking if they had anything else (such as the other speaker) to call me. These pics are as soon as they got home. Not even a wipe down yet (and they need it). What do you think?

those RTRs should sound pretty good. electrostatic tweeters on top, 5" mids and 8" woofers? as long as the electrostatics aren't blown, you're good to go.

Even if you don't get the other RTR, don't chuck it -- those electrostatic panels are hard to find, and people need them. I can think of an example right here.
 
Nat, that's kind of what I figured... I pick up almost anything I see, then do some research when I can. I still don't know every single piece of equipment out there, and there are definitely cases where the whole may look like garbage, but there is one valuable, salvageable part.

I wouldn't be opposed to spreading some Karma here before I put anything up on that auction site, if I ultimately have to part this guy out :yes:
 
Sometimes leaving a note pays off! Just got a call back, I'm picking up the other speaker tomorrow afternoon! I'll keep my eyes peeled when I'm there for other goodies, of course!:yes::music:
 
That's great. I'll be curious to hear how the speakers are -- the transition from dynamic driver to electrostatic isn't always seamless (in fact it never really is, which is why the combo isn't more common). I'm trying to decide how the Transtatics I picked up are -- many good points, and the midrange is in a transmssion line that opens to the back so it is sort of a dipole also, but I'm still trying to decide whether it really works. Having only 4 of the 6 electrostatic panels might make the transition less successful also, though overall levels sound about right.
