"Sanity Questioned" play list

kangatoy

Crazy as a Loon
Has my sanity been questioned? By all means, numerous times over the years, predominately by me I'm afraid (and yes by others). Like when I buy vintage audio gear, or speakers, or vinyl LPs. I saw a request here on AK for suggestions of Halloween tracks. So I thought I'd ask for help on a track list I started a bit ago on my computer, it hasn't developed very far since most of my music is on vinyl. Now that I have what I think will be a LP to computer transfer system in the making, I can certainly expand the playlist.

So ????? here. What tracks would you recommend for a playlist whose title is "Sanity Questioned". So far the theme is tracks whose title and/or lyrics refer to the realm of the crazy mindset (and i mean that in a good way). All genres of music are welcome, though I do stay away from country and rap crap.

a few playlist examples so far:

Gnarles Barkley - "Crazy"
Talking Heads - "Psycho Killer"
Queen - "I'm going slightly mad"
Seal - "Crazy"

The list could go on forever, rock and roll is all about "angst" and being "outcast" from the norm.
"The End" is a classic.
Anything from "Quadrophenia"
Almost anything from Black Flag
could go on, probably could find a track from almost every record
But still a cool thread.

Prince - Let's Go Crazy
Pixies - Where is my Mind?
Pink Floyd - Brain Damage
The Teardrop Explodes - Went Crazy
Queens of the Stone Age - Everyone Knows That You Are Insane and In My Head
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Nirvana - Lithium
Supertramp - Asylum
Ramones - Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment and Psycho Therapy
The Doors - The End
Ozzy - Crazy Train
The Kinks - Paranoia
Joy Division - She's Lost Control
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized

and some more...

Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
Rolling Stones - 19th Nervous Breakdown
Patsy Cline - Crazy
Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond
Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic
Weezer - Undone (the Sweater Song)

Can you tell I think about insanity too much? :)

"Can you tell I think about insanity too much? "

And that's a bad thing? :scratch2:

Glad to see that others can relate to my play list. I appreciate the input and now have to begin the search for what I already own and then on to the real search for stuff not in my collection.

Some of the first ones I thought of have already been mentioned, but off the top of my head I can add these:

Goin' Out of My Head
Done by various artists; the one that starts, "Yes, I think I'm goin' out of my head, yes, I think I'm goin' out of my head, over y-o-u-u-u". Actually a love song, but the title/lyric fits.

They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!

Give me time and I'll think of some more.

A few that came to mind....

Robin Trower - Twice Removed From Yesterday

Bauhaus - In Fear Of Fear

The Chameleons - Splitting In Two
The Chameleons - Dali's Picture
Pink Floyd - Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast
Pink Floyd - Waiting For The Worms
Pink Floyd - Pow R Toc H
Pink Floyd - Vegetable Man
Alexisonfire - Sharks And Danger (super good song with a convo of Dallas Green calling the psychatric helpline)
Interpol - Roland (gotta love Roland.....but you should probably stay away from him....)
Interpol - A Time To Be Small
Beck - Vampire Voltage

A comic classic!

OMG - even I should have thought of this one - I used it back in the 80's on my answering machine, it usually provoked a message that started out with dead silence followed by extreme trepidation.

Alice Cooper really comes to mind about a few "Crazy" songs.. From the Inside LP being the best bet

A perfect example, because We're All Crazy...

Man.. can't believe I was the first to bring this up... :D
