Snade
humble AK member
I've got about $260 invested in this setup, so it's not cheap, but I'm still calling it a "budget" system.
I've converted a spare bedroom into a space I use for work on my laptop.
This sytem is used for listening to jazz, rock and classical FM stations here in the Chicago area.
Here is the system (all recommended by AK members):
Sonic Impact T Amp (shown in the photo below is my Super T amp now discontinued but you may buy the T Amp at Parts Express for $70)
Sony XDRF1HD Tuner, reviewed here by AK member "pbda", and sold on Amazon for $100.
Infinity Primus P152 speakers, reviewed by AK member "Art K", and sold on Ebay for about $90 a pair (refurbished new).
Here are the photos:
How does it sound ?
The system has amazing clarity. The Sony Tuner eliminates all background noise on the FM stations. The T Amp provides incredible detail to the music and the Infinity speakers have very detailed mids and highs.
The result is remarkable reproduction of music at moderate sound levels - the kind of volume you use in a home office space.
Just sharing some info. Everything I learned about this setup was from my buddies on AK.
Cheers, Snade
