cambridge soundworks model six vs. infinity primus p162

I'm thinking about getting a new pair of bookshelf speakers for my study and I want to look for something pretty affordable and that will be appropriate for the small dimensions of the room (roughly 9' x 9'). Of interest are the Cambridge Soundworks model six, on sale for $99 and the Infinity Primus p162, about $90 on Amazon. I don't think there is anywhere local that would have these available to demo, so I was wondering what AK'ers thought of these 2 and if one would produce better results than the other. I pretty much listen to only vinyl in my study, and in a constant endeavor to make a better sounding system, I'm replacing and upgrading pieces as money and time becomes available. Also, if you have outside recommendations (I'm not opposed to vintage/used), please by all means spill it. However, I would like to keep things on the cheap. I know that I probably am not going to get stellar sound out of a $90 pair of speakers, but it looks like the 2 options, Infinity and Cambridge SW have both been generally well received for what they're capable of producing.

The Primus 162's are an excellent budget option. They have a very clear and open sound with better imaging and a larger soundstage than any speaker at that price ought to. Bass is also very good for a speaker that size and price. They are not a warm sounding speaker, they lean toward the analytical, but not overly so. Overall a very good buy.

While both are good speakers for the price, the Primus's are ~$90 apiece, whereas the CSW are $99/pair. That said, I vote for the Primus.

Just wanted to point out that the Cambridge Model 6 are only $99 when on sale. When not on sale, I believe they're around $150.

I saw that Cambridge Soundworks had a pretty good sale with those, the original price was pretty close to what the Infinity's are going for. It sounds like it's a pretty even bet, with the Infinity's edging out. I'm tempted to keep doing research on other speakers but I'm also afraid that throwing a 3rd option into the mix will just complicate things :D

Definitely the Infinity's. The P162's, and in fact all of the speakers in the Primus line, perform WAY above their price-point.
