Continuing the restoration of several Pioneer pieces. Tonight I finished the RG-2.
1. Replaced electrolytic capacitors with Elna Silmic II / Nichicon Muse FG/ES
2. Replaced mylar caps with 1% or 2% polypropylene Panasonic ECQ-P(Z)
3. Replaced failure prone 6-pole switch
4. Replaced stock op amp with Burr Brown OPA2134
5. Reflowed every solder joint
6. Stripped and cleaned chassis with ammonia free windex and Mother's chrome polish
7. Deoxited controls
The RCA jacks in the back and reed relay seem fine so I didn't do any work on them...
Listening to it now - sounds purty sweet!!
Next on deck: SR-303 reverb amp and TX-9500II - waiting on a shipment from Digikey to finish up and then it's off to PunkerX for a super tune!
