I've got an email in. No response as yet. Didn't know the gear, waited for feedback here before acting. So I may have been too slow.

Whoopee! I got 'em!

I got cuts in line because of easy logistics--I only live a mile or so from the guy. So I bumped a couple of interested parties from Cincinnati. Of course, my promise to pay asking price if they passed the audition probably didn't hurt.

They will lack omph compared to the SS stuff I'm used to, but I'm sure they have their own charms. And I'm sure they are marketable if I somehow don't fall in love with them....

Pictures in the Tube topic later this evening.

congrats on getting them and im sure you'll like them.as for oomph if you mean bass i think you'll be surprised(dont be fooled by the 6v6 its one of my favorite tubes)or if you mean the power output yeah they are only good for 10-15w but with a good efficient set of speakers in the 95/db range i dont think you'll miss much.

oh yeah if you tire of them you knowq how to reach me :D

TY both. Anyone know the efficiency rating of a Baby Advent II? (I was looking last night, but couldn't find....)

Congrats, that looks like a nice pickup. :thmbsp: I dunno about the Baby Advents, "maybe" for testing purposes. ;) Think more like JBL or Altec, if you can access them.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I have the 6060 also. I have never fired it up because of it's age. Any suggestions?

The suggestion pertinent to this topic would be you let one of several other participants here take it off your hands.... :)

Seriously, that would take some delving into, and the tube topic is the place.

Re cap it. Replace the electrolytics at least, and while your at it get the paper caps. It's been about 8 years since I did mine, but I remember it being fairly easy. it uses six 12AX7A's, four EL34 / 6CA7's and one 5V3.

Bring it up on a variac or "dim bulb tester" search for this here on AK. Lots of people here to help get it going!
