Whoo hoo!

Kegger

R.I.P. 1/12/1966 - 6/1/2017
Thank you Andy, And PerchDog!

The cabs have LE15A, LE85, H91/L91 horns/lense, 2405H tweet, LX5/N7000 xover.
(an the jbl 15" passive radiators below the LE15A)

Still haven't checked everything or listened, I hope to shortly, are they decent? :)
.
.
Thinking if I keep them for use replacing the horn with maybe the QSC waveguide?

Super awesome !!!!
I was wondering what the heck was in that stack and the what those big speaks were. I am really glad you posted some pics and also that they went to someone that could appreciate and use them. Nice pick-up :thmbsp:

Are they any good ? Not so sure but they do look pretty serious.

The guy running the sale told us that these weren't even the biggest ones; that they had some sort of pro (???) in earlier and he took the bigger ones. :yikes:

And apparently they weren't native to the house. They were the fathers from a 5000 ft sq. home and were in storage but brought out for the sale at the son's house. I wondered because four of those, a couple 15" subs w/ passives and a similar 12" single set for HT in a 12' x 17' seemed pretty over the top.

All the boxes pictured in front of the speakers looked to have a bunch of cables and etc. My first thought was some sort of sound system for a bar, dj or whatever. If they don't sound as well as expected, seems with new cabs Kegger has a very good source of parts for some real monsters.
I also see a real nice pair of 4410's w/crown amp on c/l right now. That is available in Clinton twp so i think those are the ones from the listing as well. Price maybe a little steep but those are some really nice sounding speakers and the shape of them appears to be really nice

I'll try an get a chance to hear them tomorrow, for now there "stored"..;)

Andy got the same thing, there were 2 sets of them in that there place!:..:thmbsp:

There were at least 7 boxes of cables, 5 in the family room and a couple in the bedroom, mostly mid-fi stuff like RCA and AR HT with some Phoenix and something else. A lot of power cord, computer cords, and antenna wire too. I snagged 3 Canare Quad Star 10' singles for $1.50 each though.

I don't know if it is or isn't. I didn't see that there Saturday when most of the vintage JBL stuff was around. There was a lot of BPC like I said including a probably decent Sony ES HT receiver for half price today. Keg had his eye on a minidisc player for $17.50 for a second or too also. But I was busted from all the JBL stuff, so all I got was the cables and a quart of delicious, fresh picked home grown tomatoes for $2.00 :thmbsp:

Thanks Dennis.. I'm pretty stoked!

Upgrade/rebuild path.

I'll probably start a new thread with what parts I have an what I'm ultimatly thinking... but..

For now I'm curious in things like, what "horn" to use for the LE85, do I sell the JBL slot tweets an
use something else, do I use the LE15A (I now have 4 16ohm ones) :) or the (2) 2225's I have, do
I leave those passives or remove and port the cabs, do I sell and build new xovers, things like that,
or any other thoughts/ideas others may have on the subject. (I'm going to utilize those big cabs).

I have some Audax tweets I could use for UHF drivers as well, TW025A26
http://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=8356

I have baby butt cheeks, plus the JBL 8" Mid woofers 2118H, and more I'm sure if I were to totally
change the speakers into somethings else but I kinda like the woofer to LE85 to UHF driver 3-way's.

Thanks in advance,
Keg

What's the full story, is this score (nice one btw :) )from an estate sale?
Did more AK members go there?

It was an Estate Sale that PerchDog turned AndyMan onto, Andy went there, bought a
pair then told PerchDog and Myself what was actually there then offered us the second
set, PerchDog backed out and I took the second pair.. :) (I believe that's the full story)

Thanks Dennis.. I'm pretty stoked!

Great Score! Yep, the classic JBL monitor setup of 15, 1" driver on a foghorn behind an acoustic lens, with a slot tweeter on top.

BTW, the pics show slots (075 or 2405) not Cat's Eyes (077). I have a similar setup with a single 15, people say it sounds "So Real" etc. (I need to get them out and do a comparo with my latest ewave creation.)

I'f I'd just picked those up, i'd be  for days...

Be sure and listen to them for a while before planning any mods.

I will defiantly listen to them, AHH OK, sorry my bad with the JBL UHF tweet, I looked at
all the other drivers to make sure what I had an just took a stab at those tweets there. :(
(I'll double check tomorrow an see what it is exactly that's in there)

Thanks for the heads up and the kudo's, they are defiantly slots not cats.. ;)
.
.
EDIT: They are 2405H slot tweeters.. (same as 077 I believe)

Hmmmm...

...there is definitely some nice stuff there.
I'd run 'em with the passives  and I like big cab's so once you got the horn thing figured out,I'd build bigger cabs and use the same guts, maybe reworked a little or whatever. I like 3 ways as well !
Just my .03....:music:
Let me know when you got 'em hooked up,I'll come by and bring Squid's stuff !

[Edit] Lookin' at those cabs again...they seem to be plenty big !

Yah Steve, BIGGER cabs? (I think there plenty big already) :)

4.75' tall 2' deep 2' wide.. I think that's big enough for me, (heck I could climb in them) THAT'S BIG!
