Need help! Building my first turntable setup

I'm new to this whole thing and really want to build a nice beginner setup. I'm trying to spend $1200-1300 and listen to indie rock (arcade fire, deerhunter, etc), jazz, and the occasional classical. I've been looking at the music hall 2.2 turntable, and the marantz PM5004 integrated amplifier. Need help on speakers. Anything you guys would suggest in my price range that would be nice with that turntable and amp? The turntable would be the only thing plugged into this system. Looking to see if you guys have any thoughts on this so far. Thanks so much in advance.

I'd second the PSB recommendation if you're looking at bookshelf speakers. I used B25's when I first got into vinyl. I've since moved them to my HT system, but they are great performers for the price.

For speakers - Paradigm makes a couple great low-cost bookshelf speakers, that's what I started with. The Mini Monitor will run you about $300, if you're in a small room you would probably even be fine with the smaller Atom model, their entry-level speaker. IME the Mini Monitors do rock and jazz really well.

The cartridge is very important too, so factor that in. IIRC the Music Hall comes with a phono cartridge, but that's something you might want to consider upgrading.
