I responded to a CL listing for a pair of Wharfedale W70D Series II speakers for $50 in the metro Detroit area this morning (and yes, I got 'em and OOOH nice). The gentleman I dealt with has a garage FULL of vintage stereo gear and he's planning to start listing it on CL in the near future. I told him about Ak and SMAC and although he is personally not interested in joining, he's definitely interested in his toys going to people who share his passion for excellent sound and love the vintage gear. So he said I could post a message here and he'd be happy to respond to anyone who is interested - or you can wait until he puts it on CL. In addition to the CV speakers and Marantz receiver he has listed in the ad, he has a set of Empire 7000 Grenadier speakers (cylindrical, down-firing 15" woofers, marble top) for $150. I saw a Nak RX 505, a Bell tube receiver, a bunch of Dyna amps and pre-amps (all tube), a Fisher tube receiver, a Technics linear TT, some older JVC stuff, Philips TT in box, and lots of speakers of various kinds. Seriously, you can't walk in his garage, it's crammed with vintage stereo gear and he wants to sell it all.
