I got a pair to use with my Altec 811B horns. The tweeters are crossed over with a 24 db/octave active crossover at 9.6 KHz with the horns band passed at 24 db/octave from 1.4-9.6 KHz.
My initial impression of the Klipsch tweeters is that they sound very good with the Altec horns.
Only question is how to mount the tweeters. I thought about just drilling four holes in the Altec horns and using the four lower mounting holes of the Klipsch tweeters, but how well will that hold up over time?
My other option would be to go to my local Lowe's and get some metal pieces that I can mount on both sides of the tweeters using only the top and bottom mounting holes on the tweeters which would require some spacers behind the mounting holes to clear the horn. Going that way would also give me a convenient attachment point for securing the wiring so if the speaker wires get pulled it won't damage the connections at the drivers.
The tweeters will be driven by a Dynamic push pull 6BQ5 stereo amp I just got.
