Drove an hour and half to see these one owners today and mostly it was from curiousity because of their weight and rarity. For a cabinet that measures 33h x 21w x 17d to weigh 101.7 lbs had to have some good stuff in it....
Got there and a very fine gentleman by the name of Tom greeted me and welcomed me into his home.......and there they sat. I wasn't ready for their bigness!!!..lol. Tom explained he shipped these from Asia to US in 1971 when doing work over there for the government. Said it cost him plenty to send them. Anyways, he played one song......and I bought them....then laughed as he watched my son and I trying to get them in my new Camry....as I cussed for not bringing my truck. But I got one in the back seat and it took up the whole seat!!..so I put the other in the trunk and if it had been even slightly bigger, it would have never gone in.
One inch fiberboard instead of 3/4" gives it some the added weight. Has a heavy duty toe kick under cab and the curved wood lattice grill is classic. The drivers look good but need to do some research on them. I have a set of SP-2000's that I will pair them with and use a G-7700 and make a Sansui room...:thmbsp:
Weren't sold in the US but yet the owners spec/manual is all in english?
