I have a Crown pre-amp and this is classic! What a send-up of the world of audio marketing blather. Thanks for the link.
 
This is really classic stuff, if you can't read it..

Just download the free adobe reader, almost all PCs sold in the last 5 years come with it. Crown did such a good job that a few of my "audiophile" friends read almost all of it until they realized that Crown was laughing at itself and other manfactures. Frequency Response that goes out to 20,000 hertz and never comes back. 6,000 watts in one rack space, but 6 feet deep. 25 year Warranty! :D
 
WOW! After reading that I have to have a complete system to go against you guys with those monster receivers. Wonder how it will do on Edgar Horns or A7s? Ya all are spoffing it only b/c ya ain't got 1.
 
Whoever wrote this was a genius (or has been in audio for *way* too long). (c) date of 1892? Ultra obscure specs up the ying-yang and a "run like hell" indicator for giggles.

The "Belchfire" moniker is probably an allusion to one of Mad magazine's writers (I think its Al Jaffee - sp?) who liked to sneak the word "belch" into his work as often as possible.

Too bad there isn't some audio version of the IgNobel prize.

NO, This is something that Crown put together just for a hack. Very well done though.
 
I was hoping Crown would come out with a matching tuner or pre-amp spec sheet to go with it. I don't know how long Harmon Kardon has owned them but I bet it was after this came out. Even in the 1970s, The owners manual for my DC 300A had two pages of Murphys Law stuff in with the real info. It was even in the table of contents.
