Tried out a Sansui Model 2000 & Nova 8 speakers for the first time in years. At almost 63 years of age I am beginning to make an effort to decide what still works, what to sell and what to keep as my wife and I are going to move to smaller quarters in a couple of years. Tried it out first with a pair of the first series KLH Model Sixes but one of them was dead. The same thing with a pair of KLH Seventines. Then brought out a pair of Advent 2's but in the 10 years since last used the foam surrounds had rotted. Last of all brought a pair of Nova 8's with a GW price tag of $9.95 from around 2001. Connected them up and turned on the receiver which is 45 years old now. No hums, pops, clicks or anything else but good sound. The FM tuner meter pegs with no external antenna. Almost all the lights work. Have been running it for over 10 hours continuously and it is as cool as a cucumber and just plays away. This setup goes in the keep pile. I am sure my luck will not always be as good but this makes for a good start except for the dead speakers.
