Marantz 1200 Integrated: Please Help

I just recently acquired one of these after many years of searching and I love it. However, I can't put a light bulb in the socket without causing the 220 ohm series resistor to get hot and smoke. It calls for a two watt and I now have a five watt in the circuit and it wants to smoke. Can anyone please hlep me with this? I'm using a #755 bulb which I hope is correct. The service manual does not list this anywhere that I can find.

What, no one can help me? Where's the love? Well, I solved the problem myself and I'll share it with you even though not a single person cared to respond.
I put in a 757 bulb which is a 28 volt, 80mA bulb and all is well. The 755, which was already in the socket though not working, was a 6 volt bulb and obviously not the correct bulb. Too much voltage for the series resistor which resulted in too much power being dissapated in that resistor. Obviously, I needed help to figure this out and I do feel like a bit of an idiot here, but the bad bulb fooled me into thinking that was the correct model I needed. Live and learn.

I cared enough to look up the bulb specs and searched the 1200, when I came up empty I figured it was pointless to respond. Sometimes takes longer than 14 hrs. for someone with experience to chime in.

Regards

Yeah, I was teasing more than anything else. I'm just real happy to finally have this 1200 working the way I want. One of the 22 uf caps was trashed (in the same vicinity as the series resistor for the light bulb) and I was worried I had just purchased somebody else's problem. The 1200 was an amp I've been wanting and wanting and always managed to get sniped at the last minute. I had a $208 limit on what I would spend and this one was considerably cheaper than that because the seller wouldn't guarantee it wouldn't be doa. In any event, there was some frustration that the service manual I had just purchased did not have any specs on the light bulb. But I'm just thrilled to have this thing working like I'd hoped.

JJ3810: My Marantz 1120 integrated uses a 28V 40Ma (GE 2187) lamp. Specs were found in the service manual schematic, but not in the parts list. Same bulb is used in my Marantz 33 pre-amp and as stereo lamp in the Model 20B tuner and Model 19 receiver.

THANK YOU! I couldn't find anything as to what Marantz had actually used in the service manual. Not in the schematic nor the Parts List. I'm currently running a #757 bulb and it's fine since I swapped out a 220 ohm FIVE WATT resistor for the original two watter. I have just ordered #1828 bulbs (37 volt) to ease the load on the resistor somewhat. The #2187 may be the way to go after all. Thanks so much!
