Mikes off! No recording!
Post what Concept gear you have.   Tell everyone why you like it. Elaborate on it. If you have the 16.5, you dont have to state the obvious.:D :D :D Post pics. Do whatever, as long as its Concept related:yes: :tresbon:

I want to see which pieces are the most popular, etc.

PS--I want to see pics of the ELC/ELCII!!!!

Cheers, Henry :beerchug:

Got my second 4.5 today. It was DOA, I replaced the fuse and cleaned the controls and it works!! The Tone Defeat button was the culprit...

OK, here are a few photos of mine:

16.5
CE-2
2QD
7.5D

Rgds,

PS: You forgot to include the Concept headphones in your poll, but I guess the point is moot as I have never seen these cans anywhere; at AK, eBay or elsewhere!

PPS: I am hoping VS will post photos of his ELC-2 - he is the only owner I know of.

You left out the 6.5. I have two of them.

Sorry Pete. I didn't know there was one.
If anyone has a 6.5, vote for it in the '5.5' box. :smoke:

Also, how many concept series' were there? Just the regular and then the digital display? Or were there regular ones made in different times with different cosmetics?:scratch2:

Still posting here--but Njord, would you post pics of the 7.5D lit up in a dark room? I'd like to see how the leds are displayed.

I believe there were only two distinct series of receivers - the one with the "D" (for digital tuner display) and the one without (2.5 - 16.5), that were all-analog. The Concept gear was produced approx. 1976-82 (perhaps someone with Blue Book access can confirm the years more exactly), at what time Pacific Stereo closed its doors for good and there were no more Concepts made.

I don't have the 7.5D in my posession at this time - sorry!

Rgds,

I bought the 7.5D that closed on Ebay last night. If anything still lights up when it gets here, I'll take pictures.

Here's my list:

5.5 was DOA when I bought it at GW so still need to troubleshoot it

2QD, purchased from a friend who owned it since new, in the box but missing the dust cover

ELC cassette deck

ELC II cassette deck

Hope to be able to purchase a mint 2.5 from the same friend after he finishes moving into his new apt. He has some Concept speakers, but I'm not sure of the models

I'll look for my ELC II photos and try to get a better set of ELC pix up soon.

Regards,

Bart

Don't really know. I haven't used a CT-9191 or have one to compare to. My ELC's are generally operational but I haven't had time to investigate them very much. I do recall the initial audition was pretty good, say on par with a Nakamichi 480 which was a pretty decent machine for its day.

Regards,

Bart

OKOK--Who is in line for a 16.5--so far I kow of SoCal Sam and Artvguyx(if thats how you spell it.) Im not talking about people who just want one, but people who are currently looking on the market and are looking to pay good money for it(ie, $400plus). Check in. Say how much you would pay at max.
