AKAI AA-1200 Great Condition

Hello!
Today I picked a AA-1200 that I bought for $90. Also in the bargain was a pair of cheap Sharp speakers, an AKAI GXC-710D tape player and an AKAI AP-207 Turntable. The gear is in GREAT condition. The receiver only had a small blemish on the face plate, the wood is completely unscratched!
Original buyer, manuals included!
I opened her up and there was not much dust. I see two caps that are probably bad (I'll post pictures later) one 63V 220µF and one 63V 470µF.
I'm firing her up tomorrow to see how the 120wpc sounds. :music:

Have a nice day!
I'll post pics of the beautys as well.
Ps. Does anyone know anything about the tape player or the turntable?

Heh. I've got a GXC-710D. Nice sound, once I got it cleaned up. The internal switches for recording needed a lot of Nu-trol, and the counter needed work to keep it going properly. The player uses the counter to figure out when it get to the end of the tape. Little blinking green light :)

Here are some pics.
Does anyone know what type of caps it is?

umm, they appear to be 220 uF at 63 WVDC Nippon Chemicon electrolytics.
Is this a trick question or am I missing something?

:-)

That is a mean-looking power supply in there!

The 63V 220µF I had figured out :D
As I know knothing about different kinds of caps I'm needing help to find replacements for the bad ones.
WVDC leaves me clueless.
Are they 85C or 105C?

Any idea in what kind of circuitry they are in?

working voltage (DC)... replace them with equal or higher voltage-rated caps.
They're probably 85 C caps;
No idea what they're there for; someone here may have the schematic.

Nice find for $90 !!

You would have to spend upwards of $1200 for something with a powerstage like that, and even then it still wouldnt be made in JAPAN!
