Absolutely WICKED looking drivers! Were these actually in a speaker system? I'd be interested in seeing the speakers these came out of.

just goes to show.... just 'cause a company produces mediocre stuff ,doesn't mean
that they CANT make badass stuff, too . even sanyo and jvc and sharp have/make fantastic stuff when they put there engineers up to the task of making an audio
statement....

The woofers in the OP look a lot like an upgraded version of the driver in the Technics SB7000 or SB7070 speakers... cast baskets instead of the stamped steel baskets in those.

Very nice!

Regards,
Gordon.

Too bad the Japanese kept the majority of their best stuff at home, leaving us with the rest.

... and the funny thing is that Japanese audiophiles were never very taken with their domestic loudspeakers (preferring the US and European big guns)... that makes the mystery of the high-end Japanese drivers/loudspeaker systems even more... umm... mysterious.

the AudioHeritage site has lots of interesting Japanese speakers and other gear on it...
