bakelite

  1. G

Can anybody tell me what this item is?

I just recently came across this item and I can’t figure out what it is. On the bottom is printed August 1948. My guess is that it is a remote of some kind, perhaps for a television or radio. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This is a fraud, it didn't start out white but the Bakelite was faded and worn so I painted it in Krylon Antique White Lacquer. I have read that this model was available in white as the 9T1-W but I've never actually seen one, well a real one I mean.
