    GE 3-5286a cassette mechanism clutch assembly - black magic assembly that makes no sense?

    Context: I have this old boombox and there is a clutch assembly used only for fwd/rwd. The assembly itself consists of 2 gears with the top gear pressing down on the bottom gear using a spring, and there's felt in between them for the slippage.
