    how do these heads look?

    This the best picture i can take it was much dirtier before so i cleaned it with some 99% ipa and some acetone They play fine and clear but recording sounds really bad (constant dipping in volume and unstable sound) this my first rtr so im not too familiar with everything, bought it today on fb...

    "is the head dead yet?" Does this look bad or not?

    I have been trying to decide weather this is shot or not. It has a pretty deep groove worn by the tape but I don't see any gap opening up and it is evenly worn. It is from an AKAI 202D-ss four track. Does anybody care to give an opinion?
