    Kenwood KD-550 hinge lid

    My dad gave me his old kd 550 and I love it. It still works great but is desperate need of cleaning. I’ve tried removing the hinged acrylic cover to clean and polish but I cannot get it to come off. I’m sure 35+ years of crud and whatnot have got it stuck. Does anyone have any tricks or anything...

    Kenwood kd -990 solenoid defective?

    I recently bought a kd 990 second hand for a pretty good deal however the arm cueing isn't working. I did some testing and I am pretty sure that the solanoid is defective. It measures 0.6 M ohms and doesn't do anything at all. Is there any chance of finding a fitting replacement? Also the auto...

    I have the subject deck. Picked it up at a consignment shop. Quartz PLL direct drive. Auto return. I'm guessing early 80s model. I'm finding little to no info on this model. Lower end I'd say. It actually works fine and has a working cartridge. Any thoughts on value? Im thinking in the $75...
