    Pioneer CS99 - midrange?

    Have an old pair of Pioneer CS99s and I SO want to love them, as they easily fill my medium/large room with sound, but the mid range is so muffled & "flabby" for lack of a better word. I can feel the bass even if it's not very controlled or detailed. Highs are powerful. It's just not balanced...
