    Technics SL-FL audio problem

    I just purchased a used SL-DL5, and everything seems to work fine, except for the audio quality. The audio I'm getting after hooking up the turntable to my stereo is very low volume, and full of static. I know the audio chord I'm using works, and the turntable does have the original ground wire...
