    Sony TC-355 with a noisy left channel

    Hi, I've just bought this old reel to reel. There is lots of white noise on playback on the left channel. The noise is not present when recording and monitoring from source so I assume the amplifier section is ok. It is present when the source is "tape", and can be heard before the tape engages...

    Sony TC-355 won't record but erases.

    I have a Sony TC-355 that I am currently servicing. When I switch it into record mode, the VU meters stop moving, and I can't hear anything through the source or tape outputs. I have used contact cleaner to clean the record switches and the source selector switches. I would greatly appreciate it...
